Mother's Day

My Mother's Day didn't start off in the best way. Luckily by the afternoon, we all started to have some fun. My husband and I took our kids to get sundaes at McDonald's which I thought would be less messy than the soft serve cones that we had the weekend before. I was wrong, but it was wonderful to see our 3 year old and our 2 year old twins with their big smiles and chocolate beards and mustaches. As I write this, I am remembering that their car seats are probably incredibly sticky from the ice cream, and I should probably go clean it up right now (but I won't because it is Mother's Day and I should take it easy for the rest of the night).

Yard sales

I really love yard sales. For the last two Saturdays mornings, I have gone to yard sales. My kids are into Cars and Toy Story and Finding Nemo. I found 14 of the die cast metal cars from Cars and a Woody and 2 Buzz Lightyear figures (one being about 10 inches tall that talks) and a big stuffed Nemo. I also found an extension ladder, 2 Hawaiian shirts for my husband, a portable DVD player, clothes and shoes for the kids, almost 50 matchbox cars and a track, some books, a movie, shoes for me, booster seat, photo album, 3 wooden kid size guitars, a giggling Elmo chair, Winnie the Pooh wooden clock, a couple of games, stationary, CD cases, gift bags, stuffed Mickey and Minnie, 3 RevereWare pans, birthday candles and probably some other stuff that I can't remember. But anyway, all of this stuff was less than $100. I was able to get my family some really cool stuff for a lot less than it would have cost new. Did I mention that I love yard sales?
